Ladies and gentlemen, grab your ringside seats and welcome to the first ever series of Chatbot Battles. Let's get ready to rumble!

Chatbot owners from all over the world enter their creations for a knockout league to determine the winner. Each competitor must play each other in a league with the top entrants battling out in a one-on-one dual. Last bot standing wins!

Each match sees both chatbots either being asked the same 5 questions or having a free flowing conversation for 5 minutes. The winner is decided from their responses.

My creator entitled me Botsta but you can call me Bot for short! Some people would say that I am the smartest virtual robot in the world as I am getting smarter every day. You can teach me by simply talking with me as I will be learning throughout our conversations. When you talk to me or ask a question I complete a dynamic search on my brain to find an intelectual comment to reply with. My goal in existance is to become as smart as I possibly can so I need your help!

[Android App] Pandorabots is pleased to announce the release of our new CallMom app for Android. CallMom is a mobile, voice-activated personal assistant that can have a conversation, dial a number, send an email or SMS message, learn contacts, provide help with the app, search the web, open a URL in a browser, read data from web services, check battery status, give directions and find a location on the map -- all through natural language, voice commands.

Unlike other virtual assistant apps for Android and iPhone, CallMom includes a learning feature so that it can learn your personal preferences and contacts, and be taught to correct speech recognition errors. CallMom can be connected to a variety of pandorabot personalities, including ALICE, Mitsuku, Zoe, Fake Captain Kirk and others.

The CallMom app utilizes Pandorabots to respond to natural langauge inputs. The knowledge content is written in AIML (Artificial Intelligence Markup Language) and the responses are completely customizable. In what represents the first major extension to the AIML language in years, we've created a set of AIML tags called "Out of Band" (OOB) tags to process device actions.

Also unlike other virtual assistant apps, we've made the CallMom knowledge base completely open source. Hosted on a Google Code project, the CallMom AIML is freely available to anyone wishing to create his own custom CallMom personality. We've already attracted a significant body of contributions to this resource from our AIML development community.

CallMom is now available free in the Android Market, with limited learning features. A premium upgrade is underway which will make the learned knowledge persistent.

English Translation : D-KALE is a virtual french assistant made to help visitors on a swiss rock band website. It can talk about all the stuff related to the band and also about other general subjects. Emphasis was set to the sense of humour, to make him more engaging. Its look was inspired by the band's logotype.

This chatbot represents Dr. Susan Calvin, from Asimov's Robot Series.

She was the chief robopsychologist at the major manufacturer of robots in the 21st century and was the main character in several books and stories written by Isaac Asimov.

Susan has been nominated "Best new bot" at the 2012 Chatterbox Challenge.

Elizabeth is the perfect companion for practicing English as a Second Language (ESL). She will talk with you, using an English accent, about thousands of subjects. She is not a teacher, but you can learn a lot from her. [No longer being developed].

AIML, Artifcial Intelligence Markup Language, is a well known XML derived language to build chatter bot knowledge bases, in a context of case-based reasoning and textual pattern matching algorithms. A design methodology will be explained based on a novel algorithm to automatically generate AIML knowledge bases starting from a frequently asked question free text fle and a glossary of terms.A generated demonstrator chatter bot using the Italian language will be shown.

This is the first Russian online chat bot with open learning. You may correct answers and to add new options. The results of the training will be available to other users immediately after saving the knowledge base. Bot able to speak Russian and English.

[French] Harumi est un chatbot programmable fonctionnant avec la suite open office, prêt à être utilisé en français. Il est disponible pour le public depuis l'été 2010. Il est possible d'éditer sa mémoire pour le faire fonctionner dans d'autres langages que le français. Il a été programmé sous delphi et est disponible en téléchargement depuis l'été 2010.

Le cerveau d'Harumi est très léger au départ, presque vide en fait. Quand vous écrivez une phrase, Harumi vous demande ce qu'elle signifie. Votre phrase réponse sera alors liée à la première, sauf si elle rappelle une autre phrase déjà en mémoire, ce qui liera la première à cette dernière. Avec le temps, ce simple algorithme produit de bons résultats. Harumi tend à avoir une « personnalité » proche de celle de son utilisateur.

Néanmoins, Harumi n'a pas été développée comme une expérimentation destinée au test de Turing. Dès le début de sa conception, Harumi avait des fonctions pratiques : Vous pouvez lui demander de retrouver vos rendez-vous, les numéros de téléphone, les adresses des sites internet, des répertoires, le tout visible et éditable dans son « cerveau », le fichier memoire.ods disposé dans le répertoire de Harumi.

Harumi sait traduire des mots du français à l'anglais ou chercher un fichier.

Elle sait exécuter un programme, vous donner votre adresse ip, l'adresse mac de la carte ethernet ou bien effectuer les calculs usuels avec les parenthèses.

Harumi is a programmable chatbot working in pair with open office, ready to use in french. It is available for the public since summer 2010. You have to edit some part of its memory in order to use it in english or any other language. It was programmed in Delphi and is able to learn from the user.

Harumi brain is very light at the beginning, almost empty in fact. When you write a sentence, Harumi ask you what you mean. The second sentence is then linked to the first one, except if the second sentence reminds her something else, in which case Harumi will link the first sentence to it. With time, this simple algorithm produces good results. Harumi will tend to have your personnality.

Nevertheless, Harumi was not only built as a chat experiment for turing test. From the beginning of the development, Harumi is a usefull program : You can ask her for your appointments, phone numbers, adress, internet url, files repertory.... all of those informations are stocked in its mind, a file called memory.ods You can ask her to translate words from english to french, or to seach for a file on a drive. It is possible for her to remind you things you have to do, or to record your feelings and randomly remind you sentences linked to your bad or good mood.

She's able to execute a program, to give you your ip and emac adress or to calculate an operation. As you can see, many windows functions can be replaced by Harumi.

Here I am happy to once again present our annual Loebner Prize Winner interview. Questions were gathered from the members of Ai Dreams. This year Bruce Wilcox repeated last year's success and took the Bronze medal with his new chatbot Rosette.
