In an attempt to understand the impact of appeal on talking characters our research experiments with character styles aiming to determine how visual, sound and interactive elements in design influence appeal. This research site is built around the premise that design in conversation is core to interaction.
Focusing on experimentation in content development for interactive consumption in popular culture and examining technical aspects of game design our research looks at appeal in entertainment design e.g. characterization, sound, and interactive design. We integrate research that examines popular trends in transmedia development and deployment. We incubate game research by working with unique visuals and game-play concepts that have a functionality to blend cinematic authorship with interactive entertainment. Our hypothesis is that with the appropriate manipulation of comical archetypes we can optimize their appeal and produce materials with wide popular appeal.
